This figurine was modeled after a piece Carl Jacobson turned on his YouTube channel. He took inspiration from a French woodturner. The piece is 13.5″ tall and 5″ at the widest point. The dress was turned out of Box Elder, a wood known for its beautiful red streaks often found in the heart wood. This particular piece was salvaged in Cookeville, TN and brought to me by a friend from college days. The head and arms were turned out of Holly. The parasol was turned from a scrap of Cherry I had saved after turning a bowl months earlier. The parasol shaft is a piece of a Bamboo skewer.
